In a series of Instagram posts shared on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, Ray Emodi opened up about some of the tough experiences he faced while filming across Nigeria.
“I’ve poured so much time and energy into Nollywood. There was one shoot in a town I won’t name where we could actually hear gunshots. The area nearby was in chaos, but we kept filming,” he shared.
Ray Emodi reveal that his decision to step away from acting heavily influenced by his family. “This wasn’t an easy choice. My family has strong values, and I respect their wishes. I don’t want to do anything that could harm our name,” he explained.
Although he’s stepping back from acting, Emodi reflect on the positive moments he’s in Nollywood. He admitted to recently turning down several movie offers and shared that he’s now focusing on his music career. He also announced the release of a new music project.
“I’ve been through some intense situations, but I’ve also had some of the best moments of my life on set. Turning down new roles hasn’t been easy, but it’s something I had to do. Music has always been my passion, and I’m excited to share this journey with you. To all my Nollywood fans, I’m not leaving you—I’m just following my musical dreams,” he said.
Emodi asked his fans to respect his decision and not hold any resentment over his move away from acting. This announcement comes nearly three years after he took a short break from the industry due to anxiety.
