Lagos Deputy Governor To Spend ₦4.2 Billion On Office Furniture And Microphones

The Lagos State Government’s attention has drawn to reports claiming that ₦4.2 billion allocated in the 2026 budget for purchasing office furniture and microphones for the Office of the Deputy Governor.

Clarification on the Matter:

  1. The total capital budget for the Office of the Deputy Governor in 2026 is ₦4,247,816,006.
  2. This amount has misrepresented as being solely for office furniture and microphones.
  3. Of the total capital allocation:
    • ₦4,077,816,006 designated for the reconstruction of the Round House complex. This six-story building houses over 50 offices and will undergo structural upgrades, retrofitting, and installation of alternative energy systems, among other improvements.
    • ₦170,000,000 allocated for office equipment, furniture, fittings, and other capital items.
