Nollywood actress and philanthropist Tonto Dikeh has touched hearts online by fulfilling her promise to support a young student’s education.
In a heartfelt update shared on her Instagram page, the actress revealed that she first met the Junior Secondary School (JSS) student during one of her evangelism outreaches. During that encounter, she pledged to sponsor his education all the way to university.
Recently, Tonto returned to the student’s school with her team to honor that promise. While there, she met the boy’s father and provided several items to aid his education. The team gifted the student essential supplies, including new school bags and sandals. Additionally, a few other students at the school benefited from the outreach.
Sharing more details, Tonto Dikeh said:
“Last week, during our evangelism outreach at Junior Secondary School Durumi II, I made a promise to support a young boy’s education from JSS1 to university. By God’s grace, my team and I returned to the school on Monday to fulfill that promise.
We visited his school, met his father, and provided him with new school bags, sandals, and other essentials. We also extended support to a few other students. Most importantly, I made the financial provision needed to ensure his education continues without interruption throughout junior secondary school.
But the story didn’t end there. While speaking with his father, a widower raising three children alone, I felt led to do more. I helped him start a small business he had always dreamed of with ₦1,000,000, so he can provide for his family with dignity and stability.
We’re not stopping there. We’ve also ordered 10 laptops for the school to help them teach and enhance their students’ digital learning.
This is what the Gospel looks like—not just words, but action.”
