“If DNA Shows My Child Is Not Mine, I’ll Still Accept Them”- Rotimi Salami

Popular Nollywood actor Rotimi Salami recently opened up about his views on paternity and DNA testing. He revealed that he would continue to love and care for a child, even if a test showed the child wasn’t biologically his.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Yoruba, Salami highlighted the importance of emotional connections over biological ties. He explained that if he had raised a child from infancy and the child saw him as their father. He wouldn’t turn his back on them because of a DNA result.

In his words, “If a DNA test shows the child isn’t mine, but I have raised the child from infancy and the child knows me as their father. I would fully accept them as my own.”

The actor emphasized that children should never suffer for situations beyond their control. He believes the bond created through love and care is far more significant than genetics.

Rotimi Salami also pointed out that any issues stemming from such a discovery would be between him and his wife, not the child.

“The child will always carry my name and see me as their father. Because they had no role in creating themselves. Any concerns would remain between me and my wife,” he concluded.
