Popular Nigerian socialite and entrepreneur, Cubana Chief Priest, has admitted that not supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the last general election was a political misstep. He revealed that he has now decided to align with the current administration.
The nightlife promoter shared these thoughts during a political meeting in Imo State. He explained that the event, which took weeks to plan, was organized to show growing support for the federal government.
According to Chief Priest, years of being in political opposition didn’t yield the results he and his supporters had hoped for. This realization led them to adopt a new approach.
“We’ve decided to work with the government at the center. We’re no longer interested in fighting. We tried being in opposition, and it didn’t work for us,” he said.
He also praised Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, for maintaining a strong partnership with the federal government. Cubana Chief Priest noted that this collaboration has brought development to the state.
Additionally, he commended Seyi Tinubu, describing him as someone fostering unity and building connections across different ethnic and regional groups.
Reflecting on the last election, Chief Priest admitted that opposing Tinubu was a mistake. “Politics is like a game. We don’t want to lose again, and we won’t waste our votes anymore,” he remarked.
He predicted that the growing support for President Tinubu could evolve into one of Nigeria’s largest political movements. He also promised stronger mobilization efforts ahead of future elections.
Cubana Chief Priest concluded by praying for Tinubu’s success in office. He urged Nigerians to focus on unity, cooperation, and partnership as the country moves forward.
