Zamfara State Governor To Join President Bola Tinubu on a UK State Visit

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State joined President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s delegation for a historic state visit to the United Kingdom. The Nigerian delegation departed Abuja on Tuesday for the two-day diplomatic mission scheduled for March 18 and 19, 2026. As reported by ALO360, this marked a significant moment for both federal and state level engagement with British authorities.

King Charles will host President Tinubu, First Lady Remi Tinubu, and the entourage at Windsor Castle. The Royal Family invited the delegation to view a special exhibition featuring Royal Collection items related to Nigeria. Later, the Royal Family have planned to host a State Banquet in honour of the Nigerian guests.

Sulaiman Bala Idris, spokesperson for Governor Lawal, confirmed the governor’s participation in the delegation. He stated, “Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal will join President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s entourage for a historic visit to the United Kingdom on March 18 and 19, 2026.”

The state visit will focus on strengthening bilateral relations between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Furthermore, the delegation will explore collaboration opportunities in immigration, trade, investment, and cultural exchange. President Tinubu will meet with Prime Minister Keir Starmer for expanded bilateral talks. These discussions are to culminate in the signing of memoranda of understanding covering trade, investment, defence, and cultural cooperation.
