Two Nurses Arrested Over Alleged Wrong Injection That Killed Sisters in Kebbi State

The Kebbi State Police arrested two nurses in connection with the death of two young sisters. As reported by ALO360 the victims aged six and three died on March 18 2026 at the General Hospital in Zuru following alleged drug misapplication.

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State directed an immediate probe into the incident. Consequently he constituted a nine member panel to uncover the exact cause of the deaths.

Father Details the Alleged Negligence

Father Ibrahim Abdullahi Shuni recounted the events at the hospital. “When the nurse came my wife asked her Did you hear what Mama Sultan said that the injection should not be given directly but through the drip” he stated.

In addition the nurse allegedly ignored the instruction and administered the injection directly. Therefore the children reacted badly and died within ten minutes.

Panel Begins Hearings

Alhaji Yakubu Ahmed as commissioner for information and culture headed the investigative panel. Moreover the team collected testimonies from medical officers on duty and members of the bereaved family.

Government Provides Support

The Kebbi State Government donated ten million naira to the family. As a result officials sought to help the parents cope with the trauma.

Emir of Zuru Alhaji Mohammed Sanusi Mikailu Sami addressed health workers directly. “Health workers must embrace constant training and retraining Negligence that endangers lives is completely unacceptable” he declared.
