Nollywood mourns the death of veteran actor Davis Offor

Veteran Nollywood actor Davis Offor, widely recognized for his iconic role as Clarus in the beloved sitcom The New Masquerade, has sadly passed away.

However, The news was shared by fellow actor Tony Akposheri, who played Zacky in the same series.

On Tuesday, April 7, Akposheri posted a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, describing Davis Offor not just as a colleague but as a close friend and brother. He remembered Offor’s vibrant personality, which could light up any room he entered.

In his post, Akposheri shared that he had recently spent time with Offor, making the loss even harder to bear. “Today, my heart is heavy. Davis Offor, fondly known as Clarus from The New Masquerade, is gone,” he wrote. He reflected on their joyful New Year celebration, filled with laughter, cherished memories, and hopeful conversations about the future.

“We welcomed the New Year together, laughing, sharing stories, and looking forward to brighter days. Little did we know that time was counting differently for you,” Akposheri added, expressing the shock and suddenness of the loss.

Akposheri’s tribute highlighted Davis Offor warmth and optimism, which extended far beyond his on-screen character. He described him as a man whose humor, kindness, and energy naturally drew people in.

“You were more than just a familiar face on TV. You were a friend, a brother, and someone whose presence could brighten any space,” Akposheri wrote, admitting how difficult it is to accept the loss.

“It’s hard to believe that the voice I heard not long ago is now just a memory. It’s painful to accept that someone so full of life has become a story we now recount,” he concluded.
