Tragedy in Ondo State: man arrested for allegedly killing three siblings

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a 28-year-old man, Femi Agbeye, for allegedly murdering his three siblings in the Okitipupa community. The shocking incident has left the community in mourning.

In a statement released on Thursday, April 8, 2026, the command’s spokesperson, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the tragic event. According to the police, Femi reportedly attacked his siblings with a machete.

“The Ondo State Police Command deeply regrets to announce a tragic and gruesome incident that occurred on April 7, 2026, in Okitipupa,” the statement began.

The report revealed that Femi’s father, Mr. Agbeye, who resides on Doctors Road, New Site, Okitipupa, reported the crime to the police. He stated that his son attacked his siblings—Bose Agbeye (20), Dupe Agbeye (7), and Blessing Agbeye (5)—while he was away. Sadly, all three victims lost their lives.

Police officers quickly responded to the scene, where they found the victims’ lifeless bodies. The remains were taken to the State Specialist Hospital Morgue in Okitipupa for preservation and autopsy.

In a swift operation, the suspect was arrested the same day. The police have assured the public that Femi will face charges in court once investigations are complete.

“The Commissioner of Police, Ondo State Command, strongly condemns this heinous act and assures the public that justice will be pursued diligently.

“He also urges residents to remain calm and cooperate with law enforcement agencies by providing any useful information that may aid ongoing investigations.

“The Command reiterates its commitment to the protection of lives and property and warns against all forms of violence within the society.”
