A disturbing Sweden trial has begun, drawing global attention.
The Sweden trial involving a 61-year-old man accused of coercing his wife into sex with over 120 men is now underway.
Prosecutors allege the abuse occurred at a remote farm near Kramfors in Sweden, where the man reportedly used isolation, threats, drugs, and surveillance to control his victim.
According to court documents, the accused arranged meetings with men he contacted online and forced his wife to participate in sexual acts in exchange for payment.
Authorities say the abuse began in 2022 and continued until October 2025, when the woman filed a police report.
Prosecutors claim he drugged her to weaken resistance and installed cameras in their home to monitor and record the encounters.
The defendant faces multiple charges, including rape, attempted rape, and assault. He denies all allegations, insisting the encounters were consensual and that he only helped organise them. His defence team maintains that the prosecution’s account does not reflect reality.
The Sweden trial is taking place in Härnösand, with parts held behind closed doors to protect the victim’s identity. Investigators have identified about 120 men linked to the case, though only 28 have been charged so far.
The Sweden trial has drawn international comparisons and raised concerns about coercion, abuse, and online exploitation.
The Sweden trial is expected to last about two weeks as proceedings continue.
