Iran halts execution of female protesters after Trump’s request

Donald Trump says Iran stopped the planned execution of eight women protesters after a direct request from the United States.

Donald Trump claimed that Iran has cancelled the planned execution of eight female protesters who were reportedly due to be put to death.

In a public statement, Trump said he had been informed that the women would “no longer be killed.” He added that four of the detainees would be released immediately, while the remaining four would receive one-month prison sentences instead.

Trump said he appreciated that Iranian leaders respected his request and ended the planned executions.

Iranian authorities had not immediately issued an official confirmation of the claim at the time of reporting.

The statement comes during a period of heightened tensions and fragile diplomacy between Washington and Tehran. Recent developments have included ceasefire discussions, sanctions pressure, and renewed negotiations involving regional mediators.

Human rights concerns in Iran have remained a major international issue in recent years, particularly over the treatment of protesters, activists, and political detainees.

If independently confirmed, the reported decision would mark a rare humanitarian breakthrough amid strained relations between both countries.
