Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo Mourns the Loss of His Father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo
The Government and people of Kogi State are in mourning following the passing of Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, the beloved father of the sitting Governor, Usman Ododo. He passed away peacefully on Monday at the age of 83.

The sad news was confirmed in an official statement issued by the Kogi State Commissioner for Information and Communications, Kingsley Fanwo, who expressed the state’s deep sorrow and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
“The Kogi State Government regrets to announce the passing of the father of the Executive Governor of Kogi State, Late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, who returned to his Creator a few hours ago at the age of 83,” the statement read.

According to the statement, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani will be buried in accordance with Islamic funeral rites, with a Janazah (funeral prayer) to be observed before his interment.
Commissioner Fanwo went on to offer prayers, asking Almighty Allah (SWT) to forgive the deceased’s shortcomings, reward his good deeds, and grant him eternal rest in Al-Jannah Firdaus—the highest level of paradise in Islam.
He also extended heartfelt condolences to Governor Usman Ododo, the entire Ododo family, and all those affected by this great loss, praying that Allah grants them strength, patience, and peace during this difficult time.
