Netanyahu says early-stage prostate cancer was successfully treated

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says he is in excellent health after treatment for prostate cancer.

Benjamin Netanyahu said doctors successfully treated an early-stage malignant tumour discovered during routine medical monitoring.

In a statement posted on X, Netanyahu said the tumour was found after follow-up checks linked to earlier surgery for an enlarged but benign prostate.

He said treatment removed the cancer completely and left “no trace” of the disease.

Netanyahu added that he feels in excellent physical condition and described the issue as minor and now behind him.

The Israeli leader also said he delayed publication of his annual medical report so it would not be released during the recent conflict involving Israel, the United States, and Iran.

According to Netanyahu, doctors discovered a spot measuring less than one centimetre during his latest routine examination.

He said he chose immediate treatment because acting early on potential risks is important in both personal and national matters.

The health update comes as Netanyahu is expected to visit the White House in the coming weeks amid US efforts to secure a lasting regional peace deal.

It also follows a three-week extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon after recent border tensions.

Netanyahu’s announcement is likely to reassure supporters as Israel navigates major diplomatic and security challenges.
