Adams Oshiomhole, senator representing Edo North, says Atiku Abubakar has become the ruling party’s “best campaign manager” because of his criticism of Peter Obi.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today programme on Wednesday, Oshiomhole dismissed concerns that the opposition coalition could threaten the electoral chances of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2027.

“You mean that APC would be worried about which of the parties now… ADC?” he said.

“I saw Atiku. Atiku is now our best campaign manager because he is attacking Obi.”

The former APC national chairman also referred to comments by Rotimi Amaechi, who recently described Obi and Atiku as regional political figures while presenting himself as a national politician.

“I see Obi attacking Amaechi,” Oshiomhole said.

“I see Amaechi say Obi is a regional player, Atiku is a regional player, and he is the only national player, but he didn’t tell us what his ward unit looks like.”

According to the senator, the opposition has failed to present a convincing alternative to the policies introduced by the administration of Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The opposition can have their dreams, but they will be defeated flatly because nobody believes them,” he said.

Oshiomhole challenged opposition figures to clearly state which policies of the current administration they would reverse if elected into office.

“They have to speak to the new policies that they would reverse,” he said.

“Whether they would reverse taxation, reverse fuel subsidy removal, student loans, or reverse any of those bold decisions that President Tinubu has taken.”
