Rita Dominic has paid a heartfelt tribute to her late colleague, Alexx Ekubo, following his final burial. The Nollywood star shared her emotions in a touching message on Facebook. Her words reflected the deep sadness felt across the entertainment industry after the actor’s passing.
According to Rita, losing a young person at the peak of life is difficult to understand. She admitted that she is still struggling to come to terms with the painful reality. In her emotional tribute, she wrote: “It’s heartbreaking to see a young person in their prime taken from us too soon. I struggle to comprehend it and truly refuse to accept it.”
She also prayed for the late actor and extended her condolences to his family. “Rest in peace, dear Alex. May you find comfort among the angels. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones,” she added. Her message quickly resonated with fans and colleagues who continue to mourn the actor.
Alexx Ekubo reportedly died on May 11 at the age of 40 after battling cancer. Since then, several memorial events have been held in his honour. A Service of Songs took place at Monarch Event Centre in Lekki on June 10. Later, family, friends, and celebrities gathered in Arochukwu, Abia State, for a wake-keep. Notable stars including Ini Edo, IK Ogbonna, Mike Godson, Omoni Oboli, and Ayo Makun attended. On June 18, the beloved actor was finally laid to rest amid tears and tributes.
