A wave of sadness has swept across Ghana after the sudden death of a young lawyer during World Cup celebrations. Sarah Araba Tettey, 26, reportedly collapsed shortly after Ghana’s victory over Panama at the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

The tragic incident happened on Wednesday at Standard Hostel in Bomso, near Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Reports say Sarah was watching the match with friends and joined the celebrations after the final whistle. Moments later, she suddenly collapsed, leaving everyone in shock.

Friends quickly rushed her to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. Medical workers reportedly tried to save her life, but she was later pronounced dead. The heartbreaking news has since sparked emotional reactions online, with many people expressing disbelief over the loss of such a young professional. Her very last post on X trends;

Sarah was an alumna of KNUST’s Faculty of Law and was called to the Ghana Bar earlier this year. She had also started practising with O & A Legal Consult. Meanwhile, her body has been deposited at a mortuary pending further arrangements. As of the time of reporting, her family and medical authorities have not officially confirmed the exact cause of death.
