Senate President Godswill Akpabio has predicted that opposition parties will allege electoral manipulation if President Bola Tinubu secures a second term in the 2027 presidential election.

Akpabio made the remark while addressing supporters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, expressing confidence that the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) would retain power despite growing political realignments ahead of the polls.

Akpabio Predicts Opposition’s Reaction

The Senate President said the opposition would likely reject the election outcome instead of accepting defeat if Tinubu wins another mandate.

According to him, similar allegations have followed previous elections, and he believes the 2027 poll will not be different.

“When President Bola Tinubu wins the 2027 election, the opposition will cry rigging.”

Expresses Confidence in APC

Akpabio maintained that the APC remains well-positioned to secure victory in the next general election.

He argued that the Tinubu administration’s policies and programmes would convince Nigerians to renew the President’s mandate at the polls. Furthermore, he urged party members to remain united and continue mobilising support across the country.

2027 Political Activities Gather Momentum

Political activities have continued to gather pace ahead of the 2027 general election, with parties intensifying consultations, endorsements and coalition talks.

Meanwhile, both the APC and opposition parties have stepped up efforts to strengthen their political structures as the race for the next election gradually takes shape.

Focus Turns to 2027 Election

Although the presidential election remains months away, political leaders have continued to make public declarations that reflect the growing contest for power.

Ultimately, attention is expected to remain on the campaigns, alliances and policy debates that will shape the outcome of the 2027 general election.
