Marvel Studios will launch its first TV-MA animated series, Marvel Zombies, on Disney+ on September 24, 2025. This miniseries reimagines the Marvel Universe in a post-apocalyptic world where iconic heroes and villains turn into flesh-eating zombies. Fans can expect a darker, gory twist that expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) into more mature storytelling.

Darker Twist and Animation Style

Marvel Zombies continues the story from the What If…? episode “What If… Zombies?!”. The series combines Marvel’s signature action with horror elements, showcasing familiar superheroes in terrifying scenarios. The animation features a darker color palette, stylized violence, and eerie atmospheres, making it the first MCU project specifically aimed at a TV-MA audience.

Star-Studded Voice Cast

The series features Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Rudd, Florence Pugh, David Harbour, Simu Liu, Hailee Steinfeld, and Iman Vellani reprising their characters. Other notable voices, including Awkwafina, Tessa Thompson, Wyatt Russell, Randall Park, and Dominique Thorne, add a blend of familiarity and fresh performances that bring the story to life.

Blade’s MCU Debut

A highlight of the series is Blade’s MCU debut. Todd Williams voices Blade, and the series retains Mahershala Ali’s likeness, which bridges continuity and meets fan expectations. Blade’s appearance adds vampiric horror elements and strengthens the connection to the broader MCU Phase Six narrative.

Premiere and Expectations

Set to debut on September 24, the four-episode series is produced by Marvel Studios Animation. It is expected to attract both horror fans and long-time MCU viewers, offering a unique, intense, and suspenseful addition to the Marvel storyline.
