Nigerian crossdresser James Brown has broken his silence after a heated confrontation with a man who attacked his identity. A video shared on his Instagram page captured the tense moment as people rushed to hold both men back before the situation got worse.
According to James, he was only trying to settle an issue involving his team when the man suddenly stopped discussing the matter and began insulting his identity. That incident pushed him to speak about a problem he believes many feminine people face.
Reacting to the incident, James said many people wrongly believe feminine people are easy targets. However, he insisted that appearance should never be mistaken for weakness. In his words:
“They see a feminine person and immediately think, ‘Easy target.’ That’s where they get it wrong. The biggest mistake you can make is confusing femininity with weakness. Looking soft doesn’t mean I break easily. Smiling doesn’t mean I’m scared. Being graceful doesn’t mean I won’t defend my dignity.”
He also added,
“You don’t have to like me. You don’t have to understand me. But you will respect me.”
James further revealed that years of criticism have only made him stronger. According to him, every insult became motivation instead of discouragement. He said,
“I’ve been called every name in the book, yet I’m still here. Every insult became fuel. Every attempt to break me became another reason I refused to disappear.”
He ended his message by asking fans,
“Why do some people mistake femininity for weakness?”
The post has since sparked conversations across social media, with many people sharing different opinions.
This is not the first time James Brown has spoken openly about his life. Last year, he discussed the pressures men face in society. In 2023, he explained that dressing like a woman pays his bills. He also admitted that living as a woman comes with its own challenges. At different times, James has shared his dream of becoming a mother. He even claimed he planned to undergo surgery to make that dream possible.
