Sean “Diddy” Combs could leave prison earlier than expected. The music mogul’s release date has now changed for the third time. According to records from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, viewed by Us Weekly on Wednesday, July 29, Diddy is now expected to regain his freedom on January 24, 2028.
The rapper, who is serving a 50-month prison sentence at FCI Fort Dix in New Jersey, was first scheduled for release on June 4, 2028. However, that date has continued to move closer. In March, Us Weekly reported that his release shifted to April 25, 2028. Two months later, it changed again to February 23, 2028. Now, the latest update has pushed the date forward once more.
Meanwhile, the new release date comes shortly after reports claimed Diddy was involved in a fight with another inmate. Several media outlets alleged that prison officers stepped in to stop the confrontation. Reports also claimed the rapper was placed in solitary confinement after the incident. However, prison officials have not publicly confirmed those claims.
Despite the growing attention, Diddy’s team says they do not have enough details about the latest change.
“At this point, we do not have the necessary information to respond with any clarity,”
a spokesperson for Diddy told Us Weekly on Wednesday. For now, fans and critics will have to wait for more official updates on both the reported prison incident and the reason behind his latest release date adjustment.
