Forum Alleges Plot as Yilwatda Blocks Mutfwang’s APC Move

The North-Central APC Forum accuses Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda of blocking Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang‘s defection from the PDP to the APC. Forum members claim Yilwatda frustrates efforts to attract the governor. Additionally, they point out his actions create internal tensions within the party.

This allegation emerges amid preparations for the APC convention. The forum states Yilwatda prioritizes personal goals over party growth. Therefore they urge immediate action to resolve the issue.

Reasons for the Obstruction

Yilwatda allegedly blocked the defection to safeguard his 2027 political ambitions. The forum explains that Mutfwang’s entry could challenge Yilwatda’s influence in Plateau State. Moreover they highlight how this move weakens the APC’s unity in the North-Central region.

Critics within the forum argue Yilwatda lacks the experience needed for his role. They also charge him with promoting religious bias. As a result, party members feel divided and frustrated.

Forum’s Regret and Broader Criticisms

The forum now regrets pushing for the national chairman position to return to the North-Central zone. They apologize for this earlier agitation. Furthermore they question Yilwatda’s ability to lead effectively.

Allegations also reach Yilwatda regarding the invalidation of the certificate of the forum from 2018 onwards. The group believes this aims at challenging their legitimacy. As a result, trust levels in the APC decay.

Call for Presidential Intervention

The forum calls on President Bola Tinubu to intervene in the Plateau APC crisis. They support Mutfwang’s potential defection and seek a more competent chairman. In addition, they emphasize the need for fair leadership to strengthen the party.

This has been evident in the challenges that Nigerian politics has been facing. The leaders of the political parties need to address this issue urgently in order to create a stable political environment.
