The Arrest Unfolds
NDLEA officers arrested 19 year old Praise Nwogu in Benin City. She hails from Imo State. Additionally they nabbed her accomplice, 25 year old Ebong Oghosa from Akwa Ibom.
The operation occurred on November 22, 2025. Intelligence led to the bust after weeks of monitoring an online drug ring.
Details of the Operation
Praise, known as Candy, promoted laced cookies on social media. She sold brownies and confectioneries infused with cannabis.Moreover Ebong acted as the production expert. They targeted young buyers through videos and online ads.
Items Seized in the Raid
Agents found 12 plates and one cup of cannabis brownies at Praise’s place. Tests confirmed the drugs. From Ebong, they seized 76 grams of cannabis sativa and 1.5 grams of Colorado. Furthermore a large pan and a plate of brownies tested positive.
NDLEA’s Strong Response
State commander Mitchell Ofoyeju praised the swift action. He warned others against online drug trafficking. In addition, the agency stresses its fight against evolving drug tactics. Investigation continues, and charges loom in court.
Additionally, NDLEA destroyed nine cannabis farms in Edo. They partner with the state government to promote legal farming.
