China Announces Sanctions 20 U.S. Companies, 10 Executives Over Taiwan Arms Sales

China took strong action on December 26, 2025. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs imposed sanctions on 20 US defense companies and 10 executives. This move came after the US approved a major arms sale to Taiwan.

Details of the Sanctions

Authorities froze all assets of the companies in China. They also banned Chinese organizations from dealing with them.a190cd For the executives, officials denied visas and barred entry to China, Hong Kong, and Macau.

The sanctioned companies include Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation, L3Harris Maritime Services, and Boeing in St. Louis. Others are Gibbs & Cox, Inc., Advanced Acoustic Concepts, LLC, and VSE Corporation. The list continues with Sierra Technical Services, Inc., Red Cat Holdings, Inc., Teal Drones, Inc., and ReconCraft LLC.

Additional firms are High Point Aerotechnologies, Epirus, Inc., Dedrone Holdings Inc., Area-I Company, Blue Force Technologies, Dive Technologies, Vantor, Intelligent Epitaxy Technology, Inc., Rhombus Power Inc., and Lazarus Enterprises Inc.

Executives face similar restrictions. They include Palmer Luckey of Anduril Industries, John Cantillon of L3Harris, and Michael J. Carnovale of Advanced Acoustic Concepts.

Others are John A. Cuomo of VSE Corporation, Mitch McDonald of Teal Drones, Anshuman Roy of Rhombus Power, Dan Smoot of Vantor, Aaditya Devarakonda of Dedrone Holdings, Ann Wood of High Point Aerotechnologies, and Jay Hoflich of ReconCraft.

Reasons for the Measures

China stated the US arms sales violate the one-China principle. Officials called it interference in internal affairs. Therefore Beijing responded to protect its sovereignty.

Additionally, spokespeople warned that provocations on Taiwan would face firm countermeasures. They urged the US to stop arming Taiwan.

The US Arms Package

The US approved $11.1 billion in arms for Taiwan. This includes 82 HIMARS rocket systems and 60 self propelled howitzers. It also covers Javelin missiles, helicopter parts, and Harpoon missile kits. However US officials say the deal helps Taiwan defend itself. Congress must still approve it.

Potential Impacts

These sanctions may strain US-China relations further. Yet experts note many firms have limited China ties, so effects could be symbolic. Meanwhile tensions over Taiwan persist.
