Trump Applauds Economic Record, Says Inflation Stayed Low in Year One

President Donald Trump has praised the performance of his economic agenda as the first year of his second term comes to a close.

In a post shared on his Truth Social platform on Saturday, Trump said his policies have delivered strong economic growth, reduced trade deficits, and kept inflation low.

According to him, these outcomes have restored confidence in the United States economy and strengthened national security.

Trump Credits Tariffs, Trade Policy

Trump attributed much of the progress to his tariff and trade policies, which he said have boosted domestic production and wealth creation.

He claimed the United States trade deficit has dropped by 60 percent, describing the figure as unprecedented.

In addition, the president said the economy recorded a 4.3 percent GDP growth rate, with further expansion expected.

Allies Dismiss Earlier Economic Warnings

Meanwhile, Republican strategist John Jordan said critics who predicted economic collapse have been proven wrong.

Speaking on The Record With Greta Van Susteren on Newsmax, Jordan recalled warnings of runaway inflation and recession earlier in the year.

However, he argued that those forecasts reflected political bias rather than objective economic analysis.

Comparison With COVID-Era Experts

Jordan compared current economic commentators to public health officials during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to him, both groups exaggerated risks while ignoring evidence that challenged their narratives.

He said this pattern has damaged the credibility of many economic analysts on Wall Street.

Adviser Says Critics Keep Shifting Arguments

Presidential adviser Dick Morris also dismissed criticism from Democrats and Trump’s opponents.

Speaking on Rob Schmitt Tonight, Morris said critics initially argued that no leader could fix the economy.

Now, he added, they acknowledge improvements but shift the debate to affordability concerns, which he described as a moving target.
