Arsenal beat Burnley as Gunners move closer to league title

Arsenal moved within touching distance of their first league title in 22 years after a hard-fought win over Burnley.

Arsenal secured a tense 1-0 victory over Burnley thanks to a first-half header from Kai Havertz.

The decisive moment came from a corner delivered by Bukayo Saka, with Havertz rising highest to power home and give Arsenal the lead. Despite dominating possession, Mikel Arteta’s side struggled to kill off the game and faced late pressure from Burnley.

Arsenal created several chances through Eberechi Eze and Saka, while Burnley threatened on the counterattack but failed to produce a clear equalising opportunity. The home crowd endured a nervy finish before celebrating another crucial step in the title race.

The result moves Arsenal closer to winning the Premier League for the first time since 2004. Arteta was applauded by supporters after the match as belief continues to grow around the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal now need just a few more results to complete a remarkable title-winning campaign.
