Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, have congratulated the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, on his 65th birthday.
In separate goodwill messages released on Sunday, the two opposition leaders praised Obi’s leadership, commitment to public service and contributions to Nigeria’s democratic development.
Atiku celebrates Obi’s public service
Atiku described the former Anambra State governor as a dear brother. He congratulated Obi on reaching the milestone and prayed for continued strength, wisdom and good health.
He said:
“I warmly congratulate my dear brother, HE Peter Obi, on his 65th birthday. I celebrate his remarkable journey, steadfast commitment to public service and contributions to our democracy.”
“May the years ahead bring him renewed strength, wisdom, good health and fulfilment. Happy birthday, Peter.”
Kwankwaso praises Obi’s integrity
Meanwhile, Kwankwaso described Obi as a leader whose integrity, humility and conviction have earned him admiration across Nigeria.
According to him, Obi has consistently demonstrated exemplary leadership and remains committed to good governance and national development.
Furthermore, he praised Obi’s role within the Nigeria Democratic Congress, saying:
“As our candidate on the presidential ticket of the NDC, he has been an outstanding ally and a principled voice whose dedication continues to inspire millions of Nigerians across the country.”
He also wished Obi good health, greater strength and continued success in his efforts to contribute to Nigeria’s progress.
Birthday comes amid 2027 political activities
The birthday celebration comes as political activities ahead of the 2027 general election continue to gather momentum.
Obi is the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, while Kwankwaso serves as his running mate.
