Yoruba actor and comedian Baba Ijesha has called out fellow actor Mr Latin over their strained relationship. He accused Mr Latin of distancing himself during a difficult period. Baba Ijesha made the claims while speaking on a programme about the crisis between them.
According to Baba Ijesha, he called Mr Latin more than 25 times after returning from Jerusalem. However, he said Mr Latin repeatedly gave excuses for not speaking with him.
“I’m in a meeting, I’m in a meeting,” he recalled hearing during the calls.
Baba Ijesha added that he could have edited the story to protect his colleague. Instead, he chose to share events as they happened.
He also recounted what happened after he arrived in the area. Baba Ijesha said he went to report at their house before he was arrested. He suggested that Mr Latin’s relationship with Sirikimi and his popularity may have influenced his actions.
The actor said he understood why his colleague might avoid getting involved in trouble. However, Mr Latin’s earlier comments about the matter reportedly upset him.
Despite the tension, Baba Ijesha appeared unwilling to turn the disagreement into a bigger fight. He suggested that he could even address the matter through a movie if he wanted to fight back.
“There is no theatre practitioner without wisdom; you cannot find a foolish comedian. We don’t call comedy foolishness, it is inspiration,” he said.
He ended with a message about patience and wisdom, as a song played:
“Gently, gently is how an elder acts. If we live long in this world, we become elders.”
For now, fans await Mr Latin’s response as the tension between the two actors continues to draw attention.
