Celine Dion Steps Back Into the Spotlight
Celine Dion has made a rare public appearance in Paris ahead of her highly anticipated return to the stage.
The “My Heart Will Go On” singer stepped out on August 28. She greeted fans and photographers outside her hotel.
Dion looked stylish in a beige trench coat and oversized sunglasses. She also wore her signature slicked-back bun.
Her appearance comes ahead of her upcoming Paris residency. The shows will mark another major step in her return to live performances.
The Grammy winner announced the residency as a special birthday gift to herself.
“This year, I’m getting the best birthday gift of my life,” Dion said.
“I’m getting the chance to see you, to perform for you.”
A Major Return After Her Health Battle
Dion will return to the stage in September. It will be her first major performance run since the 2024 Paris Olympics.
She plans to continue the Paris shows through May 2027. Fans have eagerly waited to see the music icon perform again.
However, her comeback has not been easy. Dion revealed in 2022 that she had stiff-person syndrome. The rare neurological disorder caused severe muscle spasms. At one point, the condition made walking difficult for the singer.
She also cancelled her Courage World Tour after repeated postponements.
“I’m so sorry to disappoint all of you once again. It breaks my heart, but it’s best that we cancel everything,” Dion said.
Dion Refuses to Give Up on Music
Despite the challenges, Dion has continued working towards a return.
She has trained with medical and fitness professionals to rebuild her strength. The singer also receives physical and vocal therapy. After her Olympic performance, Dion explained her determination.
“Either I train like an athlete and work super hard, or I switch off and it’s over,” she said.
Her emotional comeback at the Paris Olympics gave fans another reason to hope. Dion performed Edith Piaf’s “Hymne A L’Amour” during the opening ceremony.
The performance marked her first live performance in four years. It also became one of the ceremony’s most emotional moments.

Dion has slowly returned to the public eye since revealing her condition.
