Danielle Adewusi has won Miss Universe Nigeria 2026. The Lagos representative will represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe Festival in Puerto Rico.
Lagos State representative, Danielle Adewusi, has won the Miss Universe Nigeria 2026 crown. She defeated 19 contestants at the grand finale in Lagos.
The event took place on Sunday at Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island. The contestants had earlier faced several challenges during the competition. These included advocacy projects, talent shows, camp activities and stage performances.
According to Silverbird, Adewusi stood out with her “confidence, intelligence, elegance and commitment to social impact.” She sealed her victory after the final question-and-answer session. Silverbird Group President and National Director, Guy Murray-Bruce, later crowned her.
Meanwhile, Anita Osikhena of Edo finished as first runner-up. Myya Jones of Cross River came third, while Oluwafunmibi Ajaja of Ekiti placed fourth. Melissa Toghanro of Delta completed the top five.
Jones also earned an automatic Top Five spot after winning the fast-track voting contest. In addition, Toghanro will represent Nigeria at Miss Supranational.
Osikhena also had a big night at the pageant. She won the Pitch Your Dream Competition and received ₦1 million from Yolo Island. She also won Best Advocacy Project, earning ₦500,000 and a one-year supply of Golden Penny products.
Other special award winners included Miss Akwa Ibom for Most Photogenic. Miss Ekiti won Miss Amity, while Miss Edo took Best Evening Dress. Top Model went to Miss Oyo and Miss Osun claimed Best National Costume. Miss Ogun also won Best Talent.
Adewusi will now represent Nigeria at the 75th Miss Universe Festival. The event will hold on November 24 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.She will also present her “Scrub the Stigma” advocacy project on the global stage. The project focuses on women’s.
