TikTok star Jarvis has called out her husband, Peller, over his frequent use of Pidgin English. The social media personality urged him to speak English, especially when communicating around their unborn baby. Her comments have since drawn attention to the couple’s conversation during a livestream.
The incident happened during a livestream on Switch, where Jarvis and Peller connected through a video call. During their conversation, Peller spoke in Pidgin, prompting Jarvis to express her displeasure. She questioned his behaviour and reminded him that their unborn child could recognise his voice. Jarvis also urged him to change how he communicates with the baby.
In a stern response, Jarvis told her husband to stop speaking Pidgin around their unborn child. She stressed the importance of speaking English and encouraged him to focus on proper pronunciation. Her comments suggested that she wanted Peller to communicate in English more often, particularly when talking to her and their baby.
During the livestream, Jarvis made her feelings clear with these words:
“You dey behave anyhow. Don’t you know that this child can recognise your voice. He dey hear you. Abeg no dey speak pidgin for me. Stop speaking pidgin, speak English with me, speak phonetics with me babe.”
