EFCC confirms arrest of former minister
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arrested former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, following his recent conviction for financial misappropriation.
EFCC Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, confirmed the development on Tuesday.
According to reports, operatives arrested Mamman around 3:30 am in Kaduna.
Two others arrested during operation
Olukoyede disclosed that two other individuals were arrested alongside the former minister.
He alleged that the suspects were shielding Mamman from law enforcement authorities.
The EFCC chairman also revealed that investigators are examining the property where the former minister was apprehended.
Court recently convicted Mamman
Mamman was recently convicted and sentenced by the Federal High Court over charges linked to financial misconduct during his time in office.
Authorities have yet to release further details regarding the latest arrest operation and ongoing investigation.
