Erica Nlewedim has opened up about the emotional trauma she faced after leaving Big Brother Naija. The reality star made the revelation during an interview with Toke Makinwa. Erica said she would never return to a show like BBNaija. However, she remains grateful for the opportunities the show gave her.
According to Erica, BBNaija changed her life financially and opened several doors. Sadly, the experience also came with years of online insults. She revealed that the constant criticism affected her deeply. As a result, she had to seek professional help.
“I was getting like 3 years of back-to-back insults. I had to see a therapist because of that show,” she said.
Despite the difficult experience, Erica has built a successful career since leaving the reality show. She has appeared in several Nollywood movies and commercials. She has also secured deals with major Nigerian brands. In addition, the actress owns her own skincare business. These achievements have helped her establish herself beyond reality television.
Meanwhile, Erica recently addressed another personal matter involving her father. A fan criticised her for taking her formerly absent father to a movie premiere. Erica questioned whether she should hold a grudge forever. She said she did not want to become bitter or live with regret.
Also, she recently made headlines at Lagos International Airport. According to her, British Airways downgraded her from Business Class to Economy without an explanation. She also claimed the airline seized her luggage.
