President of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, has praised the Federal Government’s economic reforms, saying they are restoring investor confidence and improving business conditions.
According to Dangote, the reforms are also helping Nigeria move towards sustainable economic growth and recovery.
He made the remarks while assessing the impact of the government’s fiscal, monetary and regulatory policies on businesses and the wider economy.
Dangote highlights impact of reforms
According to Dangote, the reforms have improved macroeconomic stability and increased economic activity across key sectors.
He said the emerging gains show why the government should maintain consistent and market-driven policies.
“The economic reforms being implemented by the Federal Government are beginning to yield tangible results. We are witnessing improved economic activity, stronger investor confidence, increased industrial productivity, and a more resilient business environment,” Dangote said.
“These measures are laying a solid foundation for sustainable economic growth and long-term prosperity for Nigeria,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dangote said the changing business environment could encourage more investment, particularly in manufacturing and other industrial sectors.
He noted that these sectors play important roles in creating jobs, diversifying the economy and generating foreign exchange.
Reforms support industrial growth
Dangote also praised measures aimed at improving efficiency, attracting investment and promoting domestic production.
As a result, he said the policies are creating better conditions for businesses to expand their operations.
“We commend the Federal Government for its courage and determination in implementing reforms that are essential for economic transformation,” he said.
“While every reform process comes with initial challenges, the benefits are increasingly evident in stronger economic indicators, improved business confidence, and renewed investor interest in Nigeria.”
Dangote linked the policy environment to the continued development of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex.
The facility is Africa’s largest integrated refining and petrochemical complex.
According to him, policies that support local refining and reduce dependence on imports have helped the refinery expand its operations.
Dangote Refinery boosts local production
Dangote said the refinery’s progress shows the importance of policies that encourage domestic investment and industrialisation.
“The progress being recorded at the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals complex is closely linked to a policy environment that encourages investment, supports domestic industrialisation, and promotes self-sufficiency,” he said.
“These reforms are helping Nigerian businesses to plan with greater certainty, invest with confidence, and compete effectively on the global stage,” he added.
Furthermore, he said the refinery’s rising production capacity and expanding exports were supporting Nigeria’s economy in several ways.
These benefits include foreign exchange earnings, employment creation, stronger local supply chains and increased industrial activity.
Dangote also said the refinery could position Nigeria as a major energy and manufacturing hub in Africa.
Dangote pledges continued investment
The industrialist reaffirmed Dangote Industries Limited’s commitment to investing in strategic sectors of the Nigerian economy.
He said the group would continue to support innovation, industrial development and job creation.
“Our vision has always been to support Nigeria’s economic development through transformative investments,” Dangote said.
“Today, we are witnessing how the combination of private-sector commitment and decisive government policies can unlock unprecedented opportunities for national growth.”
In addition, he said the group’s refinery, petrochemical operations, fertiliser production and other investments were contributing to a more self-reliant Nigerian economy.
Dangote expressed confidence that consistent reforms and stronger public-private cooperation would attract more foreign investment.
He also said sustained policy consistency could strengthen Nigeria’s position as one of Africa’s leading investment destinations.
