CAC shutdown portal for 3 days amid cyber threat concerns

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has announced a temporary shutdown of its online portal for scheduled maintenance. The portal will be unavailable from 12:00 midnight on April 17, 2026, to 6:00 a.m. on April 20, 2026.

This update was shared in a public notice issued by the Commission on April 17, 2026, highlighting planned system upgrades. The maintenance comes in response to reports of a cybersecurity incident affecting parts of its systems.

Key Details on CAC Shutdown:

The CAC stated that the maintenance is designed to enhance service delivery and improve the user experience on its platform.

“To serve you better, we will be conducting scheduled maintenance on our portal this weekend. During this time, the portal may be temporarily unavailable,” the notice explained.

“We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding,” they stated.

The scheduled maintenance follows allegations that approximately 25 million documents may have been exfiltrated from the Corporate Affairs Commission’s infrastructure.

The Commission confirmed a cybersecurity incident involving unauthorised access to parts of its systems, prompting concerns over the safety of corporate data.
