Ini Edo, Bimbo Ademoye, and other Nollywood stars have reacted after a blogger reveals refusing to publish unverified claims against Alex Ekubo’s family.
The controversy surrounding late Nollywood actor Alex Ekubo’s family has sparked fresh reactions online. Popular blogger Cutie Julls claimed that some individuals approached the blog to publish serious allegations against people close to the late actor, including his wife and family. However, the blogger said the claims could not be verified and refused to share them.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Cutie Julls alleged that some of those involved were people connected to Alex’s family. According to the blogger, they wanted damaging claims published as facts. After reviewing the information, the blog declined the request. “My conscience wouldn’t allow me become part of something that could further divide a grieving family or unfairly damage people’s reputations,” the blogger stated.
Meanwhile, several Nollywood stars applauded the decision. Ini Edo reacted with a salute and flower emoji. Bimbo Ademoye wrote, “My mamabear y’all.” Blessing Obasi added, “Bless your heart.” BBNaija star Queen Mercy Atang praised the blogger for taking time to investigate before posting. Uchenna Nnanna, Dayo Amusa, and celebrity hairstylist Wannebaybee also expressed their support.
Alex Ekubo reportedly passed away after battling advanced metastatic kidney cancer. He died at Evercare Hospital at the age of 40. His funeral, held on June 18, was attended by many celebrities, including IK Ogbonna, Mike Godson, Omoni Oboli, KCee, E-Money, Cubana Chief Priest, Nancy Isime, Kunle Remi, AY Makun, Funny Bone, and several other stars, who gathered to pay their final respects.
