Iran reviews US war proposal as Strait of Hormuz tensions rise

Tehran reviews Washington’s war-ending offer while warning US forces over naval entry.

Iran says it has received a US counter-proposal to end the ongoing conflict, delivered through mediators in Pakistan. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei confirmed the message is under review, adding that discussions are focused on ending the war rather than nuclear issues.

At the same time, Iran issued a strong warning over the Strait of Hormuz. Military commander Ali Abdollahi said any US forces entering the area would be attacked, insisting Iran controls the route and must approve all vessel movement.

The warning follows the US launch of “Project Freedom,” announced by Donald Trump, aimed at escorting commercial ships through the strait and restoring global shipping flow.

The Strait of Hormuz handles a major share of global oil shipments, making the standoff critical for energy markets and regional stability.

With diplomacy and military threats unfolding side by side, the situation remains highly volatile.
