Isabel Idibia, daughter of legendary singer 2Baba and actress Annie Macaulay, has opened up about her family. The young star spoke about her parents’ separation and her relationship with her half-siblings.
During an interview with Yanga FM, Isabel admitted that her parents’ separation has affected her. However, she said things are gradually getting better.
“My name is not Isabella Idibia but Isabel,” she clarified.
“Obviously, my parents’ separation is affecting me, but things are getting better day by day.”
Meanwhile, Isabel revealed that she shares a close bond with her half-siblings. She also credited her mother for encouraging that relationship. According to her, everyone makes an effort to stay connected.
“I love all my siblings, and I am close with them. My mum encourages me to see them. We all make a joint effort,” she said.
Recently, Isabel also showed love to her half-sister, Ehi, whom 2Baba shares with Pero Osaiyemi. She called Ehi her “queen,” while Ehi returned the love. Beyond family matters, Isabel has also spoken about unwanted attention from men. She said some guys liked her because of her father’s influence. Some were reportedly hoping to get record deals through him. She has also discussed her battle with body dysmorphia and being body-shamed by people around her.
In addition, Isabel criticised how her parents were portrayed on Netflix’s Young, Famous & African. She said defending them online often brought more attacks because of her age.For Isabel, family remains important despite the changes around her.
Her comments show that she is learning to navigate her parents’ separation while maintaining strong bonds with her siblings. As she grows, Isabel appears determined to focus on love, healing and staying connected to her family.
