Nigerian singer Johnny Drille has opened up about his private love life. The singer revealed how he met his wife, Rima Tahini, at Mavin Records. According to him, Don Jazzy and the label played a big role in their love story. Johnny said they started dating around November or December 2018. However, they kept their relationship away from the public for five years.
Speaking about their secret romance, Johnny Drille said,
“I met my wife at Mavins.”
He also admitted that hiding their relationship was not easy. By July 2023, fans finally learned about their marriage. At that point, the couple had already tied the knot privately. Johnny joked about how their relationship came together, saying,
“Don Jazzy gave me my wife.”
He added that they dated quietly at Mavin Records without anyone knowing.
Meanwhile, Johnny later shared a sweet video featuring himself and Rima. The singer described his marriage as the best part of his life. He also thanked his wife for loving him and completing him. In December 2023, the couple welcomed their first child, a baby girl. Johnny celebrated Rima’s strength and promised to protect and nurture their daughter. Their surprise marriage also shocked fans who once linked him to actress Tomi Ojo.
Those rumours grew after Johnny featured Tomi Ojo in his music video. Their chemistry made many viewers think they were dating. An old 2019 Twitter exchange also fueled the speculation. Johnny had posted, “Future Dad!” while Tomi replied, “…of Tomi’s children.” Johnny then responded, “Full circle.”
The exchange sent fans into a frenzy. However, Johnny’s real love story was happening quietly with Rima all along.
