The Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed the abduction of Deputy Speaker Samaila Bagudu by armed bandits in Bagudo town on Friday night. According to Police Public Relations Officer Nafiu Abubakar, the lawmaker was taken shortly after completing his evening prayers. However, security teams immediately moved into action to track down the attackers. In addition, eyewitnesses said the gunmen stormed the area in large numbers and shot sporadically before fleeing with the lawmaker. Therefore, the incident has created tension among residents of the quiet border community.
