Maduka Okoye and Cardi B set social media on fire after they were spotted together at Paris Fashion Week. The Super Eagles goalkeeper escorted the Grammy-winning rapper to her seat during the Jean Paul Gaultier Fall/Winter 2026 Haute Couture Show.
They also shared a light conversation on a balcony. Soon after, fans began speculating that there could be something romantic between them. However, there is no evidence to support those claims.
Now, popular American streamer DJ Akademiks has reacted to the rumours. Speaking during a livestream, he insisted money alone makes the relationship unlikely. According to him, Okoye’s reported yearly salary is far below what Cardi B would consider in a partner.
“Cardi is not dating anyone that makes under eight figures a year. So, if you’re not making 10 million dollars a year, you do not qualify for Cardi B. Okoye makes like $900,000 a year… that’s not Cardi’s tax bracket, bro.”
Akademiks admitted that Okoye is good-looking but still laughed off the dating rumours.
“She might think he looks good. But Cardi is making too much money. She probably was just there laughing at his corny jokes.”
He also mentioned Cardi B’s previous relationships with Offset and NFL star Stefon Diggs.
“Cardi been with Offset, she been with Stefon Diggs… she ain’t going for no $900,000.”
He then jokingly warned Diggs, saying,
“Stefon Diggs, this was your final warning. Cardi is probably taking applications, you better stop the b*lls**t.”
Meanwhile, neither Cardi B nor Maduka Okoye has responded to the rumours. The Nigerian goalkeeper has enjoyed massive global attention in recent weeks after going viral for his appearance during Nigeria’s friendly against Portugal. Born in Germany to a Nigerian father and German mother, the 26-year-old plays for Italian club Udinese and Nigeria’s Super Eagles. While his Paris Fashion Week appearance has kept fans talking, there is still no sign that his meeting with Cardi B was anything more than a friendly conversation.
