A 38-year-old man has been arrested after his father reportedly died from injuries during a violent altercation in Ondo State.
The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Nsikak Kingsley for allegedly beating his 65-year-old father, Adone Peter, to death in Oda Community, Akure South Local Government Area.
According to police spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the incident occurred on May 28, 2026, following an argument between the suspect and his father. The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical assault, during which the elderly man sustained severe head injuries.
The victim was rushed to a medical facility for treatment but was later confirmed dead by doctors. Police said the suspect was arrested after the deceased’s other son reported the incident to authorities.
The case has sparked concerns, while the police say investigations are ongoing to determine the full circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
The Ondo State Police Command says the suspect remains in custody as investigations continue into the death of his father.
