MC Fish and New Girlfriend Break Silence on Anita Joseph Divorce Drama

MC Fish and his new girlfriend, Gbemso, have finally addressed the controversy surrounding his ongoing divorce from Nollywood actress Anita Joseph. The couple released a joint statement on Instagram to clear the air. They insisted there were never any threats against Anita. According to them, the phrase “erase you” simply meant bringing his marriage to Anita to a legal end.

MC Fish Explains the build-up

MC Fish explained that he has repeatedly asked for a Certified True Copy (CTC) of their marriage certificate. He said the document is needed to complete the divorce process. However, he claimed the phone number on the cease-and-desist letter sent to him does not exist.

He also questioned why he should pay extra to obtain a document he believes Anita already has. Despite the online drama, he stressed that his goal is to settle everything through the proper legal process, not on social media.

Gbemso Recently Warned Critics to “Back off”

Meanwhile, Gbemso recently reacted to fresh criticism online. She shared alleged messages about Anita Joseph and claimed attacks against her had started again. She asked critics to leave her and MC Fish alone if they truly wanted peace. Her response came months after photos and videos of the couple went viral, sparking mixed reactions.

At the time, MC Fish argued that society judges men differently after breakups. Gbemso also maintained that she did not break up his marriage. According to her, MC Fish was already single when they met, and their relationship started naturally.

The latest statement comes months after Anita Joseph confirmed that her marriage had ended. In December, the actress revealed she had gone through a painful season filled with reflection, healing, and personal growth. MC Fish has also spoken openly about the failed marriage.

In separate interviews, he admitted that both of them were unfaithful during the relationship. He also said he does not regret marrying at 27 because he felt loved and respected at the time. Now, both sides appear focused on moving forward, even as the divorce process continues.
