Miss Nigeria Tamunosoye Karibi-George wins African Top Model at Miss World 2026 and secures a Top 40 spot.
Nigeria’s representative at Miss World 2026, Tamunosoye Karibi-George, is giving Nigerians more reasons to cheer. The beauty queen has emerged as Africa’s Top Model, earning an automatic ticket to the competition’s Top 40. Karibi-George defeated representatives from Equatorial Guinea, Botswana, Kenya and South Africa to take the continental title.
The Port Harcourt-born beauty queen delivered a striking runway performance at the Vietnam Beauty Fashion Fest XVII. The event carried the theme “Soul of Heritage.” She impressed with her confidence, poise and stage presence. Her win means she is now one step closer to the Miss World crown. She joins the other continental winners from the Dominican Republic, France and Vietnam in the Top 40.
Interestingly, modelling is only one of the things making Karibi-George stand out in Vietnam. The 26-year-old communications professional has also turned heads with her singing talent. A video of her performance recently went viral, with Nigerians flooding social media with praise for her sonorous voice. Earlier in the competition, she also featured among Africa’s finalists in the Head to Head Challenge.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, Karibi-George is using her Miss World journey to push a meaningful cause. Her Beyond Labels initiative promotes inclusion and opportunities for children with disabilities and special needs. She was crowned Miss World Nigeria on June 6 at the Balmoral Hall of the Federal Palace Hotel in Lagos. She emerged from 20 contestants to earn the right to represent Nigeria globally.
With her Top 40 spot now secured, expectations are high as Soye continues her journey towards the September 5 grand finale in Vietnam.
