Natasha Osawaru, wife of Nigerian music legend 2Baba, has sparked fresh breakup rumours. The Edo lawmaker reportedly dropped her husband’s surname and returned to her maiden name. In a video circulating online, she addressed members of the Edo State House of Assembly as Natasha Irobosa Osawaru. Previously, she went by Natasha Osawaru Idibia. The change has raised questions about the couple’s marriage.
For months, 2Baba and Natasha have faced public scrutiny over their relationship. Their romance became public in 2025 and soon attracted several controversies. However, neither party has officially confirmed the reported separation in the information available. Natasha’s absence from 2Baba’s 51st birthday celebration in September also fuelled speculation. The singer attended the event with four of his children and his mother.
Meanwhile, the couple reportedly clashed at an Abuja club in August. According to an eyewitness, Natasha arrived with her entourage after learning that 2Baba was at the venue. She allegedly wanted to see her husband, but the singer reportedly calmed the situation. After the incident, 2Baba shared photos with the Inspector-General of Police (IGP). He also described their meeting as a meaningful conversation about community policing.
Recall that 2Baba and Natasha held a traditional wedding on July 25, 2025. The private ceremony reportedly had close family members in attendance, including the singer’s parents. In November 2025, reports also emerged that the couple had welcomed their first child together. However, they kept the baby’s gender private, leaving fans curious.
Now, Natasha’s reported return to her maiden name has added another twist to their relationship story. Fans may have to wait for an official statement to know where the couple stands.
