High-Potency Drugs Hidden in Appliances
NDLEA operatives recently discovered illicit drugs inside water purifier machines. These appliances arrived in Lagos from the Netherlands. Specifically, officers found 3 kilograms of ketamine and 199 grams of MDMA. This discovery occurred on May 26 at a courier company. Following this, Femi Babafemi confirmed the seizure in a Sunday statement.
Major Skunk Seizures in Kaduna and Niger
Meanwhile, officers in Kaduna State arrested a couple and one other suspect. Musa Sunday, Mercy Sunday, and Salomi Ezekiel possessed 1,246 kilograms of skunk. They stored 100 jumbo bags of the drug in their residence. Similarly, operatives in Niger State raided a warehouse in Bosso. They recovered 457 kilograms of skunk during that operation. Consequently, police arrested Godwin Zakka in Minna for his involvement.
Ammunition and Controlled Pills Intercepted
In a related development, officers intercepted a suspect on the Abuja–Kaduna highway. Sunusi Musa carried 380 rounds of military-grade ammunition. He was reportedly traveling toward Katsina State. Furthermore, Enugu operatives stopped a commercial vehicle on the Onitsha–Enugu expressway. They found 22,000 tramadol pills and other dangerous substances. Consequently, James Maigari Wisdom now faces charges for transporting these items.
WADA Campaigns and Leadership Praise
Additionally, the agency continues its War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign. Teams held educational lectures in schools and worship centers across Nigeria. These activities occurred in states like Lagos, Anambra, and Cross River. Chairman Mohamed Buba Marwa praised the officers for their consistent work. Finally, he urged them to keep dismantling drug trafficking networks.
