Nigeria has been selected to host the 48th CAF Ordinary General Assembly in November.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced the decision on its official website. It also thanked the Federal Government and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their support in securing the hosting rights.
“CAF is grateful to the government of Nigeria and the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for their cooperation and partnership,” the football body said.
It added that the event is expected to be a success and will contribute to the continued growth and development of football across Africa.
The CAF General Assembly is the organisation’s highest decision-making meeting. It brings together presidents of football associations and representatives from all 54 CAF member nations.
Held once every year, the gathering is often described as the “Parliament of African Football.” This is because it determines the direction of the continental game for the coming season.
During the assembly, delegates review CAF competitions, approve budgets, adopt audited financial statements, and discuss key issues affecting African football. Each member association has one vote, ensuring equal representation in the decision-making process.
The 2025 edition of the General Assembly was held in Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo, under the leadership of CAF President Patrice Motsepe.
