NSCDC Arrests 10 Suspected Vandals, Robbers in Kano

Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Kano State have arrested 10 suspected criminals linked to vandalism, robbery, theft, trespass, and possession of stolen items.

The Kano State Command confirmed the arrests in a statement issued on Wednesday.

Suspects Arrested in Different Locations

Public Relations Officer of the command, SC Ibrahim Abdullahi, said security operatives arrested the suspects during separate operations across the state.

According to him, the arrests took place in Gwarmai, Ghari Local Government Area, Challawa Industrial Area, Unguwar Rimi, and Waratallawa in Kumbotso Local Government Area.

“The Kano State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps has successfully busted and arrested 10 suspected criminal gangs linked to vandalism, theft, criminal conspiracy, trespass, and receiving stolen properties,” the statement said.

NSCDC Recovers Weapons, Stolen Items

Furthermore, the command recovered several exhibits from the suspects during the operations.

Recovered items included 200 metres of aluminium conductor cables, copper wires, mobile phones, power banks, and dangerous weapons.

Security operatives also recovered knives, cutlasses, swords, and scissors from the suspects.

Command Parades Suspects

Meanwhile, Kano State Commandant, Mohammed Hassan Agalama, paraded the suspects on Tuesday at the command headquarters.

The command said investigators have concluded investigations and would soon arraign the suspects in court for prosecution.

NSCDC Reaffirms Commitment to Security

In addition, the commandant reaffirmed the corps’ commitment to protecting critical national assets and infrastructure across the state.

He also warned criminals against vandalism and other illegal activities.

Agalama urged residents to continue supporting security agencies with useful information to help tackle insecurity in Kano State.

Kwara NSCDC Arrests Three Over Illegal Mining

Similarly, the Kwara State Command of the NSCDC arrested three men over alleged illegal mining and unlawful transportation of suspected solid minerals in Ilorin.

The suspects include Musa Abdullahi, 45, Aliyu Ibrahim, 20, and Ishaq Ibrahim, 51.
