Buba Galadima, a chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), says the party remains the strongest platform capable of defeating Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
Galadima spoke on Saturday at the NDC aspirants’ summit organised by the Obi-Kwankwaso (OK) Movement in Abuja.
The NDC chieftain warned the party against conducting direct primaries, arguing that such a process could weaken the party ahead of the general election.
“As I speak to you now, NDC is the strongest political platform that can successfully challenge Tinubu and root APC out of government,” he said.
Galadima alleged that some political actors were attempting to infiltrate the party by purchasing multiple nomination forms in certain constituencies.
According to him, the move was aimed at creating confusion and frustrating the emergence of candidates.
“His adviser came into the NDC and bought five slots for certain constituencies in Delta,” he said.
He alleged that a similar strategy could be replicated in other states to destabilise the party internally.
“What guarantee do we have that that is not also happening in other states?” he asked.

The ally of Rabiu Kwankwaso urged party leaders to adopt consensus arrangements where necessary to avoid prolonged disputes.
“This party cannot afford to do direct primaries,” he said.
“If we attempt it, the NDC will end up without candidates for election.”
