OPay is reportedly preparing to list its shares on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX). The move could become one of Nigeria’s biggest technology listings. However, the company has not disclosed the listing date or offer details.
The planned NGX listing comes as OPay prepares for a possible US initial public offering. The fintech is reportedly targeting a valuation of about $4 billion. OPay is working with Citigroup, Deutsche Bank and JPMorgan Chase on the proposed US IPO. It remains unclear if both listings will happen together or at different times.
Meanwhile, OPay continues to record strong growth in Nigeria. An investment document showed that its gross transaction value hit $358 billion in 2025. That figure represents a 115% increase from $166.2 billion in 2024. Revenue also jumped 161% to $536.3 million. Operating income reached $107.1 million after a $35.1 million loss in 2024.
Nigeria generated 88.1% of OPay’s revenue last year. Therefore, a local listing could give Nigerian investors a chance to share in its growth. NGX Group CEO Temi Popoola recently called for major fintechs to list locally. He specifically mentioned OPay and PalmPay. The push comes as both companies reportedly consider overseas listings.
Further details about OPay’s proposed NGX listing are expected soon.
