2027: Why Nigerians Should Vote For Me – Obi

Presidential candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has urged Nigerians to support his 2027 presidential bid. He promised to tackle insecurity, unemployment, poor infrastructure and the high cost of doing business.

Obi spoke in Onitsha, Anambra State, on Friday. He was announcing the start of his campaign activities for the January 16 presidential and National Assembly elections.

Obi Promises To Rebuild Nigeria

Obi said Nigeria was facing serious challenges. However, he insisted that the country could still be rebuilt with the right leadership. He said millions of young Nigerians enter the labour market every year. Yet, many struggle to find productive work.

“I consider myself quite privileged to be one of those seeking your mandate to deal with these challenges facing our country.

“Each year, millions of young people enter the labour market, yet too many struggle to find productive opportunities.”

The former Anambra governor also identified poor infrastructure as a major concern. He listed unreliable power, insecurity and high business costs among the country’s problems. According to Obi, his economic plan would focus on production, investment and enterprise. He also said human capital would remain a key priority.

“Weak infrastructure, unreliable power, insecurity, and excessive cost of doing business continue to burden households and constrain enterprise.

“With your mandate, our economic agenda will put production, investment, enterprise, and human capital at the centre of how we lead,” he said.

That structure is much closer to what we need: shorter sentences, but still a continuous news story rather than a collection of disconnected lines.
